Google Ads for Finup: 71.44% ROI from User Acquisition

Finup wanted to turn people who had never heard of the brand into paying customers — with acquisition costs recovered within three months. We built campaigns around their everyday payment needs. The results led to a wider partnership.

01

The challenge: bring in users who keep paying

Finup provides virtual cards for advertising, online services and international payments. A signup is only the beginning: the business earns revenue when people use the service, including through repeat payments.

Our task was to launch Google Ads for cold audiences and attract customers whose payments would cover their acquisition cost within three months. We needed to make the service relevant to people who were still choosing a solution.

02

Start with the task behind the search

A media buyer needs cards for ad accounts. A business needs a convenient way to pay for international services. We built search campaigns and messages around these situations, so people could quickly see how Finup would help them.

We worked across Ukraine, Europe, the United States and selected CIS markets. European markets included Poland, Germany and the UK; other target markets included Kazakhstan, Moldova and Uzbekistan. Ads ran in English, Russian and Ukrainian.

Brand search had its own campaigns, while thematic search reached people exploring virtual card options. We followed the journey beyond registration, connecting acquisition to payments and revenue.

03

Give people a reason to try

Our creatives made the offer easy to grasp: a first card for $1, clear fee messaging and fast setup. We adapted the ideas into square and horizontal formats, with language versions for different audiences.

Here are examples of the creatives we developed for Finup:

Finup Russian-language square ad offering a first virtual card for one dollar
First card for $1 — a clear entry offer for new users.
Finup English-language square ad highlighting fees and virtual card setup
English creative focused on fees, speed and everyday usability.
Finup Russian-language horizontal ad with the FIRST promo code
The same entry offer adapted to a horizontal format.
Finup English-language horizontal virtual card ad
A horizontal version of the fee-focused creative.

Results: from attention to revenue

From 1 April to 9 October 2026, the campaigns generated:

  • 1,499 registrations
  • 1,779 payment events — one user can make several payments
  • $11,535.81 in advertising costs
  • $19,777.16 in company revenue
  • 71.44% ROI

That is about $1.71 in revenue for every dollar spent on advertising. We used Keitaro’s financial totals to keep the results consistent across campaigns.

Good results opened the next chapter

The client was pleased with the results and the achievement of the target KPIs. The partnership expanded beyond Google Ads: Finup also engaged us to set up transactional and marketing emails and work on outreach marketing.

Paid acquisition became the starting point for a broader collaboration — helping the business attract new users and build communication with them after the first visit.
